Based in Germany, we can proudly say that LYRA is Nuremberg's oldest pencil factory. Founded in 1806 by pencil maker Johann Froescheis, Lyra has been delighting its customers with superior products and first-class service for more than 200 years. True to our motto: EXCELLENCE IN PROFESSIONAL MARKING, as a pioneer in industrial marking and a partner to craftsmen and industrial users, Lyra stands for solutions which make it more efficient for professionals to produce first-class results.

Today, Lyra is a part of the Italian F.I.L.A. Group. With more than 11,300 motivated employees worldwide, the Group is dedicated to further consolidating and expanding its strength in the market.

SUSTAINABLE BY CONVICTION

Because sustainability is not a trend but a conscious decision to contribute to enabling the well-being of society and the environment, Lyra and the FILA Group aim to minimize their ecological footprints. For this reason, sustainable solutions are an integral and dynamic part of our corporate strategy. Every step, from planning and production to packaging and shipping is included in this process - this is the responsibility to which Lyra is committed.

 

100% ECOPOWER

Since 2021, our site has been supplied with 100% green electricity. This has already enabled us to achieve a CO² emission reduction of more than 50% in electricity procurement. In addition, the expansion of our own plants for the generation of renewable energy is being examined and strived for.

 

CERTIFIED WOOD

Lyra only uses wood in its products from PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) or FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified forests. These certifications guarantee strict forestry standards, Lyra’s wood only comes from sustainably managed sources.

RECYCLED PACKAGING

Lyra consistently focuses on environmentally friendly solutions which help reduce waste and reuse resources. So, for example, Lyra sets the standard by only using cardboard packaging made from recycled materials and blister packaging made from recycled PET.
